YMC 2023

Flow-sediment-biota Interactions

in Fluvial system: recent research trends

January 26-27, 2023

Palermo (Italy)

It is our pleasure to invite you to join the third edition of the “M.S. YALIN MEMORIAL COLLOQUIUM 2023” (YMC 2023), organized under the auspices of the Fluvial Hydraulics Committee (https://www.iahr.org/index/committe/3) of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) (https://www.iahr.org/).

The “M.S. YALIN MEMORIAL COLLOQUIUM” includes a limited number of partecipants in order to create a friendly environment for reflection, discussion and exchange of knowledge of advanced topics in memory of Professor M. Selim Yalin, widely known for his contributions in the area of hydraulic physical modeling, sediment transport and river mechanics.

The present edition pays special attention to the interaction processes between water-biota-sediment triad and the complex phenomena involving turbulence, deposition and erosion processes, mixing and diffusion of substances and nutrients, flora and fauna influences. It is a sound opportunity to discuss and to learn about physical processes and the fluvial ecosystems effects in a context of climate changes.

Given the present uncertainty related to COVID-19, those unable to travel to the conference venue have the option of attending remotely.

Deadline for early bird registration: November 27, 2022.

Abstract submission opening: September 15, 2022.

Abstract submission closing: October 30, 2022.

***NEW DEADLINE for abstract submission: November 27, 2022***

Works on theoretical and numerical modeling, experimental or field investigations are welcome.

After the colloquium written version of contributions will be published in a guest-edited Special Issue (indexing: ISI, Scopus) .
